I have to charge you $35 for the pgn downloads, because it has been a lot of work to build the pgn file (expertchess.zip) with over 540 000 chess games, as you can surely imagine. However in the beginning SCID seems to be complicated to use it, so I will explain some important features that you must know to be able to build your database. You can also run chess engines and play games against the computer. With “SCID vs PC” you can create huge chess databases without having to buy expensive chess database software. In the Fritz menu, something like "File - Open - Database" should do the trick. Fritz should be able to open a pgn database consisting of many games.
Based on your comments, I assume you were able to unzip the file into a pgn file using some kind of unzip utility such as 7-zip (freeware), WinZip, etc.
Is this possible? Thanks a lot if you can help. Obviously I would rather copy and paste once and have these positions saved as one file, rather than do it 300 times. For the game editor here I have used copy and paste for the downloaded file but it only shows the first position. I want to know is it possible to upload all of these positions as one file into Fritz or the game editor here? I have Deep Fritz 8 and can't upload them into it. Can anybody help me with that a matter similar to this one?ģ00 chess positions.
